A couple of days ago the weather here in the Pacific Northwest was glorious for the middle of February. It was 60 degrees out and not a cloud in the sky. I was mowing and put down moss killer on the grass, a task that has to be done several times in the spring and fall....darn pesky stuff....afterwords I swept off the walkway and kneeled to pull a few weeds that were starting around the edge....I took the opportunity to kind of stretch out and lay down on my back and look up at the sky.....oh my, it has been a long time since I have done that. If.you don't listen to any thing else I say, just do this one tiny thing, lay on your back on the ground and look at the sky.......At first I thought the neighbors were going to think I had died and started to feel self conscious, but I was enjoying myself to much to get up....I felt 8 years old again....I looked at the airplanes flying over and watched their jetstream..
I watched birds
and the arms on the fir trees swaying...
I watched a HUGE bee flitting around from crocus...
to crocus...
I listened to distant trains, and to the neighborhood...
It was hard to pull myself away from this pleasurable pastime....In this stress filled world who needs meditation when they can lay on their back and look at the nature and Gods world around us from the
earth to the sky?
Cheers to Happy !!
What a wonderful thing to do!!! I have to admit, that not long ago, I laid on my back (it was summer, though) and watched clouds. I was thinking about how I used to do that as a kid; just watch clouds. So I did it, and now I know why I remember it so fondly. It has to be the most relaxing thing in the world to do. There are a million things that the clouds "look like'. I highly reccomend "cloud watching".
