A Fireplace makes you Happy...

I spend alot of time in my bedroom...I of course sleep in it, but I read and watch TV and Blog...my bedroom was painted a sage green, very trendy and dark and when the door was shut it was like a cave...it was cozy in the winter but it could get really depressing fast, so last spring it was time for a change...I had always loved pink and never really thought of painting my bedroom pink, why that was for little girls! ...But I wanted the happiest bedroom in the whole wide world, one that was bright and cheery and not the least bit cave like...so I picked my happy color pink...and bought some paint and went to work!.....I love it so much!

it is bright and happy even on the dreariest of days!

This winter I added something else, that makes me happy, really really happy....

an electric fireplace! this is some of the best money I have spent! It has a great flame and heat and it just says cozy all over! (Don't look at that cord, I will find a way to put in an outlet behind the fireplace)...I once stayed at an old adobe hotel in Taos, New Mexico and they had a fireplace in every room, even the bathroom...You could make a little fire and when you got out of the shower, dry off in front of it! Just a little unexpected pleasure...I have the littlest bathroom, or I would try to find a way to put one in there!

The reason I am sharing all this with you?  Life is short.....too short...have a pink room, or a fireplace in the bedroom, or buy yourself a dozen roses, use the good plates or eat dessert before dinner...Choose Happy!

    My bedroom is light sage - I still love it. Maybe when I do tire of it, I will go pink.
