Retro Clam Dip...

When I was young...many, many, many years ago....holiday appetizers meant chips and dips....and dips meant two kinds..... French Onion dip and Clam dip...both made at home. I am sure they sold them at a store, but why would you buy that little container, when you could make some? Every party had these...and beer, lots of beer...no one drank wine...I only heard of people drinking what was called then a 'wine flip'..that was wine and 7-up....I am not making this up...they served it over ice...so when someone was having a party, someone brought the onion dip and someone else brought the clam dip...it is easy to make the onion dip...just Lipton onion soup mix and sour cream...but the clam dip has some real ingredients!.....I want to show you how to make this, so every party you have, you too can make this special dip!

Clam Dip
1 (7 oz.) can minced clams
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, room temperature
4 tsp. sour cream
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. grated onion
Salt & pepper
Drain clams and combine with other ingredients. Beat until well mixed. Can be served hot or cold. Makes 1 1/2 cups.

gather your few ingredients.....

follow instructions and put in a deep bowl....and please don't measure anything! just guesstimate....a little more of one item, is ok....then whip with either a wire whip or your mixer...and that is it! Done...let it sit in the fridge up to 4 hours or overnight, or in my case, not at all....

and enjoy!

white and creamy goodness!

the bad part? I am left alone with a whole bag of chips and 1 1/2 cups of delicious Clam dip!

Cheers to Happy  ! !
