Here I am...right here in Santa Monica....this is a beautiful picture of the sun setting over the pier....We went for a stroll on the pier...it was a little breezy..ok alot breezy...and to dinner at Il Fornaio It is an Italian restaurant right here across from the pier...
The food is incredible....they have a bakery right here in the restaurant and bake every morning...
This is my cousin Sue's favorite restaurant.....she even talked them into giving her a teapot once...(they have great teapots!)
this is the kitchen staff...I am sure they were happy about having their picture taken...
house salads were so flavorful...the dressing perfect.....and the crispy little garlic breads...so good...
I honestly could have just eaten the bread and balsamic vinegar and olive oil...the bread is so fresh and chewy....
they have the cutest little italian man as their logo on the plates....and I did not take one...
We had pizza...it was a prosciutto and arugula and parmesan cheese...cooked in a wood fired oven..the nice waitress cut the pizza at the table...
and we ordered the Lasagna....to pretty to eat....delicious...or I would say outstandingly delicious...
If you get a chance to go to an Il Fornaio please do...it is a real treasure...

Oh, I want to climb into the pictures! That salad and the bread...the bread!! And that pizza... Is there any question why I love Il Fornaio? Lucky you, I have never been to one in California yet, just in Vegas and Seattle. You don't really need to "take" a plate...just tip heavy and ask really nice-like. :)
