Saint Patricks Day Corned Beef and Cabbage...and Irish Soda Bread

Well as promised Corned Beef and Cabbage continued.....you take everything back out of the fridge...the carrots, the potatoes, the cabbage, the meat and the broth from the meat, we are going to assemble this a little different than you might normally make the corned beef.....first you put the carrots on to steam...
then the potatoes on to boil...

then but the broth in a large pan....

and bring to a boil, as you are waiting for it to boil...

slice the cabbage into wedges....

slice the meat very thin.....across the grain....

then slowly and carefully....

place in the hot boiling broth...

then place...

the cabbage in a neat one layer and bring to a boil and cover and let steam for approximately 5 minutes..

take off the lid to check and yep it is perfect....potatoes and carrots are done and cabbage is finished and meat is moist and hot...ready to eat!

this is so great and healthy...I can hardly wait for you to make it!

While you are waiting for the Corned Beef to cook why not make a nice Irish Soda Bread.  It is so easy and the pungent taste of the Caraway is really a nice addition to the dish.

follow the pictures and really easy recipe.

very basic ingredients are needed for this bread, see recipe in the picture below:

They are not kidding about 350 degrees for one hour for a loaf or 50 minutes for a round pan like I am using this time.
Just do it you will be so happy.

I just use the baking spray, it is so easy and quick...

Here it is all ready to go in the oven.

And just 50 minutes later you will have the nicest addition to your
St. Patrick's Day dinner.

I personally like lots of butter on this.
Enjoy!!!

Cheers to Happy  !!
